Living the Two-Chapstick Life

Last year I had a dream. I dreamed that there were two Chapsticks on my desk, the messy desk shown in the previous blog post. I moved my laptop and—there they were! TWO OF THEM! It was a great dream. I told everyone in my family about it.

Let me explain. I don't like to be anywhere without Chapstick. When I find myself in such a situation my lips feel immediately parched and I can think of nothing else. Once I had to walk out of a movie that was in progress to go walk to the nearest drugstore to purchase a Chapstick. Not that I use the Chapstick that many times a day, really. I just need to have it.

So I need to have a Chapstick next to me when I work on my laptop at my messy desk. But two? I can rarely find two Chapsticks in my apartment, even though I know they're everywhere.

Chris gave me this for Christmas:

I don't make resolutions for the new year, but I do pick a motto for the upcoming year. The motto for 2012 is a tossup between "Living the Two-Chapstick Life" and "Full Throttle." I like to think of it this way: "Full Throttle: Living the Two-Chapstick Life."

Nothing's going to hold me back!!! What are your mottos for 2012?

I used to be a chapstick girl. I've switched to Aquaphor and I will NEVER go back. Have you tried it? I have a mini one on my keychain.

can't wait to see what you come up w/ in 2012--what a great hublet to give you all that expanse of excuse...or maybe the other way 'round?

I, too, require Chapstick to be in my presence at all times and, if it is not, become greatly distressed. Also, hand lotion.

My motto for 2012: "Pass out Compliments!" And may I start with you and your blog. You inspire me and bring smiles to my world!

I think mine's "Just darn it" . The first thing I did in 2012 was darn an old favorite pair of socks. No more whining about holes, I took charge, and I kind of like them even more than before because of the patches of color.

My husband gave me two lip balms for Christmas, and I though *I* was lucky! :-)

My motto for 2012 is "kindness" - I need to try harder to be kind to those who are not necessarily kind to me - it's easy to be kind to everyone else!

Ha ha, that's awesome. I stuck two sticks of Burt's Bees into my boy's stocking, he was psyched. My next quest is to learn how to make it myself.

it's possible I'm quite proud of myself for having/placed a stick of chapstick in ALL of my coats that I wear. I have (at least) one stick in my purse, but never want to have that moment when I'm without chapstick. My lips cry. Or rather, bleed.

I am totally the same way with chapstick! My hubby actually put one in his car in case I needed it when he was driving. :) I never got such a great gift for Christmas tho! Your sweetie rocks! I have them stashed all over the house. Two in my purse and one in every coat...I think I buy one everytime I'm in a pharmacy! Anywho, my motto for the year is "Being Present" Enjoying every moment, cause these times with my little boy will fly by so fast! He's already two and I don't know how that happened!
