Luckily got the boot

It's official, I've been let go from jobjob! My first experience of what a sinking economy combined with personal, um, differences does to an architectural/engineering firm.

If anyone's looking for a freelance knit designer/house cleaner/bookkeeper/editor/administrator/German translator just get in touch with me,

oh, and expect more free Recession Series patterns.

Because I have Nothing Else To Do.

Well, I've been there for 4 months now...but the recruiters I've worked with (hiring people in my last positions) say that March is going to be the new January...the beginning of the year being the typical hiring month.

Sorry to hear that, I know unemployment sucks, hope you can relax a bit without worrying too much, and that it'll all come right again soon : )

Being laid off is so hard. On the other hand, it sounds like you kind of despised your job, so maybe this will end up being a good thing in the end. I hate the uncertainty of unemployment, although I love the schedule. :-) Hang in there, lady.

Times like these it's nice to have a healthy stash of yarn to knit your way through the madness.
Best of luck with new endeavours.

Shitty! But I know better things are ahead of you. I can't believe someone with your smarts/talents needs to go on in life doing something she hates. In the meantime, enjoy the freedom.

It totally sucks to have lost your paycheck, though I imagine you might be feeling some kind of sense of liberation too. Did they give you any kind of severance? Your Recession Knits concept is genius and I'm so happy that I'll get to see more.

Who's your former employer? I'll put on my fightin' boots and go kick him in the shins. Or the balls. Your choice.

Just passing by and found you, loved everything I saw particularly the baby surprise jackets. I am also out of a job and have been knitting, crocheting, sewing and anything else that can keep me busy so I can slow down. Anyway I want to know where I can buy the pattern for the Baby Surprise Jackets.
