New, Free, and in the Grellow Family

My new pattern, that is. Check out Metapostmodernknitting's Fall/Winter 2008 issue for my Double Gloves pattern and other very, very cool stuff. By the way, Grellow is forecasted to be big. But we knew that, didn't we?

Of course it has to be grellow. Very cool. And I didn't know about this website. Thanks for the link.

Greetings, Weaverknits! Thanks so much for gifting the knitting world with these killer gloves. I'm in the middle of my amateurish attempt at these, and I was wondering if you could provide a small bit of clarification regarding the pattern (found it on the now defunct Metapostmodern knitting archives).

I've been happily knitting all morning, but now I'm a bit stumped by the thumb gusset portion of the pattern:

Thumb Gusset
Next rnd: Kfbf, place m, knit to end. Knit 2 rnds. Inc rnd: kfb, knit to 1 st before second m, kfb, knit to end. Work 2 rnds even. Rep these 3 rnds, five more times. [15 sts for Thumb; 57 sts total]. Next rnd: sl 15 thumb sts to scrap yarn, remove second m, and CO 2 sts, knit to end. [44 sts]. Work even in stockinette for 1 inch, or until fabric covers knuckles and ends at base of fingers.

If you could answer just a couple of questions for me, me and my future gloves would be forever in your debt!

Question 1: The first inc round says "kfb, place m, knit to end". Is the marker I'm placing here the one that indicates the beginning of the round? Or is this an additional marker?

Question 2: On the second increase round, the pattern instructs me to kfb in the stitch before the second marker. Does this refer to the second marker we placed on the main glove (the side "seam" marker), or is it the marker after the one that marks the beginning of the round?

Question 3: After the increases have been completed, the pattern says to "sl 15 sts to scrap yarn". Will these be the first 15 sts a the beginning of the round?

Sorry to bother you with such a tedious request! If you have a moment I'd really appreciate it if you could give me a lil' guidance.

Thanks again, Weaverknits!
